Experience a haunting evening of Halloween favorites performed by Santa Barbara’s Vapour String Quartet at the Music Academy of the West. Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics brings together eerie classical works, iconic film and television themes, and Halloween favorites in an intimate setting illuminated by the gentle glow of candlelight.

The tentative program includes:

Doors open 30 minutes before the performance and close five minutes prior to showtime. Late arrivals will not be permitted. Guests must be at least 8 years old, and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Seating within each zone is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to build layers of flavor in several seasonal soups and stews, along with techniques you can use to improvise your own creations at home. (There’s no better way to salvage wilting produce than throwing it into a hearty soup!)

These comforting dishes are simple enough to whip up for a weeknight dinner and perfect for making ahead and freezing. But they’re also satisfying and impressive enough to serve all season long at dinner parties and gatherings.

Of course, you’ll sit down to enjoy a shared meal at the end of class.
