Our monthly challenge continues this week! Last week I hope it gave you a bit of peace of mind discussing your disaster plan with your family.<\/p>\n

The challenge this week is to make sure your car is prepared for a disaster. Please take this week to check your windshield wipers, tires, and add a first aid kit if you don’t already have one in your car. The rule of thumb for checking your tires is the penny test! See the steps for this test below:<\/p>\n

  1. Hold a penny upside down so that Abraham Lincoln’s head faces you and points down into the tire.<\/li>\n
  2. Insert the penny into the deepest tread grooves across different parts of the tire. and look at the top of Lincoln’s head.<\/li>\n
  3. If any part of Lincoln’s head is covered by the tread, you have enough grip left.<\/li>\n
  4. If you can see all of Lincoln’s head, you need to replace your tires!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
