As summer is heating up, now is a good time to think about and prepare for natural disasters such as fires, earthquakes and mudslides.<\/p>\n

The challenge this week is to look through the below Red Cross Earthquake safety document and put together a checklist for your own home along with a disaster box. Inside this disaster box should include things like emergency water, non-perishable food items, a flashlight, batteries, etc. (see the checklist below). Everyone in your household should know where this box lives and also know where the meeting spot is in case you get separated.<\/p>\n

We hope that we never have to enact these plans; however, it is extremely important that we are prepared in the event of an emergency!<\/p>\n
