John's personal mission statement is to live each day with intention, focused energy, discipline and passion, striving daily to become the best version of himself.

His enthusiasm for financial services began at the early age of 15 when he started investing. In the 90’s he met Jim Chapman and that enthusiasm developed into a life’s calling as he realized that he could quantifiably change our community for the better. John believes that small businesses are the backbone of what makes America great and appreciates that here in Santa Barbara, they provide for most of the delivery of goods, services, and much of the employment.

John’s vision for Demboski & Chapman is to be a business that allows Santa Barbara small businesses to focus on their own unique value creation; allowing Medical/Dental practices to focus on patient care, Law Firms to focus on their caseloads and so on and so forth, tangibly improving our community.

His expertise is recognized both here and around the world. He is retained on occasion as a local expert witness regarding insurance matters and has garnered international recognition for various publications and speaking engagements. John knows his industry involvement is a critical part of delivering cutting edge financial solutions. As such, he makes a significant investment in his clients by joining and actively participating in a number of major associations.

Like many Santa Barbara residents, John was transplanted into our community through the University of California Santa Barbara, graduating with a degree in Business Economics and a Professional Certificate in Financial Planning. It was at UCSB where he met his best friend and wife, Adrienne, who is the mother of their three children, Matthew, Natalie and Alexis. John treasures spending time here in paradise with his family and friends. In his free time, you could find him laughing and playing at the beach with his family, or golfing at La Cumbre Country Club with friends.

    Founded in 1927, the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), The Premier Association of Financial Professionals, is an international, independent association of nearly 36,000 of the world's leading life insurance and financial services professionals from more than 430 companies in 78 countries. Top of the Table is an exclusive forum for the world's most successful life insurance and financial services professionals. These people are committed to providing exemplary client service while displaying the highest standards of ethics and professional knowledge. It has been referenced that TOT members represent the top 1% of financial professionals in the world. John has perennially qualified for membership since 2005, and has had the distinct honor and privilege of being selected to speak in front of international audiences in: June 2012 Annual Meeting in Anaheim, October 2012 TOT Annual Meeting in Florida, October 2013 TOT Annual Meeting in San Francisco, and June 2014 Annual Meeting New Orleans with each presentation being translated into multiple languages. Additionally, John has been published on various topics for their Round the Table Journal, and is a Knight of the MDRT Foundation which donates several hundred thousand dollars annually to charities around the world.

  • Member of Santa Barbara Estate Planning Council (SBEPC)

    An invitation-only group of Santa Barbara’s estate planning professionals. A limited number of CFPs, CLUs, Attorneys, CPAs, Trust Officers, and professional fiduciaries are voted into the group by their peers. The group meets once per month to discuss current Planning techniques to efficiently transfer wealth between generations.

  • Past President and Board member of Santa Barbara National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA)

    Founded in 1890 as The National Association of Life Underwriters (NALU), NAIFA is one of the nation’s oldest and largest associations representing the interests of insurance professionals from every Congressional district in the United States. NAIFA's mission is to advocate for a positive legislative and regulatory environment, enhance business and professional skills, and promote the ethical conduct of its members. In 2010, John was elected and served on behalf of his community of professional peers as President of our local Branch of NAIFA. In 2012, John graduated from NAIFA’s Leadership in Life 6-month professional development program.

    AALU was founded in 1957 with the mission to promote, preserve and protect advanced life insurance planning for the benefit of our members, their clients, the industry and the general public. AALU’s strict qualifications result in an exclusive membership of only 2,200 members nationwide. AALU is the premier advocacy organization for the sophisticated financial advisor and continues in the spirit of its founders fifty years later.

    Founded in 1930, The National Association of Health Underwriters represents more than 100,000 licensed health insurance agents, brokers, general agents, consultants and benefit professionals through more than 200 chapters across America. NAHU members service the health insurance needs of large and small employers as well as people seeking individual health insurance coverage.

Jim founded our organization in 1969 with a vision, decades ahead of its time, of comprehensively analyzing a client's entire financial picture. His attention to detail and commitment to staying abreast of current economic events makes him an invaluable member of the team. Jim's 40 years of local experience, having advised our clients through multiple economic cycles, lays a foundation for sound strategic advice.

Jim is a University of Arizona graduate, holding a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He received his Certified Financial Planner ™ professional designation in 1984. Jim also holds a California College Teaching Credential in Banking, Finance and Insurance, and has long been involved in various industry associations.

Jim has strong philanthropic interests which have manifested into civic involvement that has included organizations such as The Folds of Honor Foundation, Kiwanis, Santa Barbara Arthritis Foundation, Child Abuse Listening Mediation (CALM), and Devereux California Advisory Board. In his free time, Jim enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, golfing, and boating. He is a Member of and former President of La Cumbre Country Club, as well as a Flag Member of the Santa Barbara Yacht Club.

Nicole is responsible for coordinating all of the processes related to establishing and servicing your investment accounts. She loves getting to know each of our clients and working as a member of our team to ensure that the overall client experience is exceptional. Nicole has a true passion for creating a positive and fun energy for everyone she comes in contact with.

Nicole obtained her Bachelor degree from San Diego State University and has worked in financial services since 2010. She holds a California Life and Variable Contracts Insurance license, her Series 6 and 63 FINRA Securities license and is a California Notary Public.

Nicole has lived in Santa Barbara since 2011 and she volunteers for Santa Barbara’s Alliance for Living and Dying Well. She loves dining out and particularly loves the Funk Zone. Nicole has traveled a bit and is constantly adding new, adventurous places to her travel bucket list. She enjoys taking in live music, comedy, and theater.

David is your primary contact for Health Insurance and Employee Benefits. He realizes the significance of Health Insurance in today's environment and is passionate about finding solutions that best fit your family or small business. Working closely with John and the rest of the team, he strives to deliver exceptional service and to make your experience one you feel good about and want to share with others.

David grew up in Santa Barbara and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from California State University, Long Beach. Throughout high school and college David played, and still enjoys, water polo. He has been in financial services since 2005. David has completed the certificate program in Financial Planning through UCSB Extension and has both his Life and Health licenses through the State of California.

Outside of the office, David enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. They enjoy being outside, swimming, going to the beach and David really enjoys coaching his kid’s sports teams. He also enjoys running and has completed two marathons.

Adrienne is responsible for our Business Development activities. If you have received an invitation to learn more about our Firm, it probably came from her! She is directly overseeing our ambitious 15-year business plan to increase the breadth and depth of services offered to our community, focusing on our central value proposition The Clarity and Confidence Solution.

Prior to joining the Demboski and Chapman team, Adrienne worked in education with a focus over the last six years on gala event planning and fund raising. She has been highly sought after in the community for her ability to create financially successful outcomes for the school, donors and the event attendees. Adrienne's expertise in successfully managing the complex myriad of issues that arise when orchestrating unique experience events is extremely valuable to our organization.

Adrienne graduated from University of California Santa Barbara, with a degree in Sociology. She then went on to Antioch University where she completed their credentialing program, to earn her Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential. She is the mother of three children, Matthew, Natalie and Alexis; and treasures spending quality time with her husband John. Some of her passions include Pilates, paddle boarding, reading as well as volunteering for her children’s school and PTA.
